Jesus, a man who knew grief and pain

God see our pain. He understands it, walking with us everyday, having gone through pain himself. When his best friend died, he went to the town where Lazarus lived. Martha, Lazarus' sister came out to meet him. She asked why he hadn't come sooner, that she believed if he had been there her brother wouldn't have died. But Jesus tells her, he will live again. Her reply was, Yes, he will rise on the resurrection day. Then Jesus reminded her that He is the resurrection and the life. "The one who believes in me will live, even though they die, and whoever lives by believing in me will never die."
When Mary heard Jesus had finally come, she ran to meet him, but fell to his feet crying, and all those who had followed her cried also. At that point in John 11:35, the scripture tells us, Jesus wept. Now, he knew what he planned to do, but he was so moved by seeing everyone in such grief that he couldn't help himself and he grieved also. Scripture than goes on to tell us that Jesus then raised Lazarus from the dead.
We don't grieve without a purpose or without his presence being with us. God knows when we are hurting or crying or missing a loved one. He is here with us. He also suffered. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering who knew what sickness was. He was like someone people turned away from; he was despised and rejected by men, and we didn't value him. Yet he himself bore our sickness, and he carried our pains: but we in turn regarded him stricken, struck down by God and afflicted. Isaiah 53:3-4.

Our daughter's accident took place 10 years ago June 5th.
Were we in shock when we received the news? Of course we were. The first thing that came to my mind though, was to pray. On the long trip of several hours on our way to Salt Lake City, that's what I did, because He knew what happened, and he knew the plans he had for her. Were the next weeks easy? No they were not. But somehow God got us through, and we were able to be used by him to befriend all nursing staff and even a couple of doctors. Although I didn't have my coaching degree yet, God still used me to be an encouragement to the staff.
He is with you, whatever situation you find yourself in. If you want to talk, I am here for you.
